TOYS - Dinosaurs - Wooly Mammoth

The Wooly Mammoth was part of the Dino-Riders Ice Age line. It was a very large piece that had motorized walking action, a feature that would later be removed when the toy was re-released as part of the Smithsonian Institution line. The Wooly Mammoth came with the Neanderthal, Grom. This doesn’t seem to be the same Grom character that appeared in the Ice-Age Adventure cartoon episode because the character looked a lot different and in the cartoon, he was actually a bad guy, so it really wouldn’t make sense for him to be joining the Dino-Riders army.

Dinosaur Variant: When the Wooly Mammoth was re-released as part of the Smithsonian Institution line, its motorized walking action feature was removed, the battery compartment that was located on its belly was covered up and the foot pads that facilitated the walking feature were removed. The Smithsonian Institution version is considerably lighter than the standard version due to the removal of the motor.
